The rigid Thumb and Forearm Orthosis Fix by Orthoteh is a medical stabilizer designed to immobilize the thumb, wrist, and adjacent part of the forearm. With its built-in inserts – two metal and one polymer – it provides a high level of stabilization and effective restriction of mobility for protection and recovery. The product is recommended for individuals with tendon injuries, fractures, or inflammations in the area of the first ray. Its anatomically contoured design allows for individual adjustment, increasing both treatment effectiveness and wearing comfort. The orthosis is intended for use under the supervision of a doctor or physiotherapist.

Is this a medical device?
Yes, the product meets the criteria of a medical device.
Indications and recommendations:
The rigid thumb and forearm orthosis by Orthoteh is a medical device intended for immobilization and stabilization of the thumb, wrist, and adjacent part of the forearm. It provides a high level of stabilization thanks to the use of two metal and one polymer insert, as well as the anatomically contoured structure, which can be individually adjusted to the shape of the hand by a specialist. The orthosis is especially recommended for De Quervain’s syndrome, tendon sheath inflammation, deformities of the wrist and thumb, as well as during rehabilitation after fractures of the first ray, ulna, or radius. It effectively restricts thumb mobility, protecting it from overstrain and further injury. The product should be used according to the recommendations of a doctor or physiotherapist.

Finally, fasten the longest strap below the elbow. Adjustment of the inserts should be performed by a medical specialist.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Before washing, fasten all Velcro elements to prevent damage. The orthosis should be hand-washed at temperatures up to 30°C, without bleach. Dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources.
