Advantages
Composition and Materials:
Is this a medical device?
Yes, this product meets the criteria for a medical device.
Indications and Recommendations:
The Back Brace Extra Hessing thoracolumbar stabilizer by Orthoteh is designed to stabilize and relieve the thoracic and lumbar spine. It supports the treatment of conditions such as osteoporotic kyphosis, disc protrusions, discopathy, and is recommended during the recovery period after spinal surgery. Thanks to four metal panels up to 42 cm in height, whose shape can be individually adjusted by a specialist, the orthosis enables posture correction and effective support of the entire dorsal section. The product should be used according to the recommendations of a doctor or physiotherapist, who may also properly adjust the shape of the reinforcements. The orthosis should be worn in an upright position, ensuring proper alignment along the spine. It should not be worn directly on damaged, irritated, or wounded skin. During use, regular checks of fit and wearing comfort are necessary, avoiding excessive compression. In case of pain, discomfort, or skin reactions – a specialist should be consulted. To maintain effectiveness, the product should be cleaned according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and stored in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Package Contents:
The package contains one Back Brace Extra Hessing thoracolumbar orthosis by Orthoteh.
Instructions for Use:
Put on the orthosis, positioning it along the spine axis so that it fits snugly against the back and is properly leveled. Then pull the straps forward and fasten them in the front, adjusting the compression level to individual comfort – if the belt presses too strongly, loosen it slightly; if sufficient support is not felt, tighten it more. Cross the straps behind the back, pull the shoulders backward, straighten your posture, and then tighten the straps again and secure them in the front. The orthosis should be worn according to the specialist’s recommendations, who may also individually adjust the shape of the metal panels supporting the spine.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Before washing, fasten all Velcro elements to avoid damaging the fabric. The orthosis should not be machine washed – hand washing at up to 30°C with mild detergents is recommended. Do not use bleach or chlorine-based detergents. After washing, dry the product at room temperature, away from direct heat sources such as radiators, and do not use a tumble dryer. Do not wring or twist the material. Gentle handling during cleaning significantly extends the product’s durability and preserves its stabilizing properties.
